The Yellow Dino was asked by Honda to make an installation for their new car release
from Honda Jazz Series. Big up to Honda Pasteur for the opporturnity!
More pics & story after the jump.
Honda want colors for their new Jazz release and I love colors so when I look at the Jazz, I can only think of
one image. The evercool Honda Jazz will run through the street of surprises. The Jazz itself realeased with
wonderful choices of color, so I just had to mix the color with my own tone. This time, I want to make
a scenery reflecting a city where Honda Jazz would love to ride on. The Yellow Dino city will be full
of peekers, from dino to squiddy. From giggles to saying hello, They will appear in many
places around the city to welcome the new Jazz to their happy world.
It was a blast working with Honda Pasteur, they are bunch of fun and respectful people. Looking
forward to meet them again. The installation was up at Honda Pasteur, Jl. Dr. Djunjunan
No 168 B, Bandung from June to August. Do drop by if you are in the area :)

Traditionally, folks associate “black things” with terror and “evil”, likewise the effect of
television likened to the downfall of mankind – an “evil” which some might deem
“evil but in more of fun way”.
Evil or not is only our perspective that we can see as human on many different way and black is
not always about death & gloomy things, we can see it more positive. That why I made
my sweet black, a black devil with a bright smiley yellow dino face,
that of course…. not scary at all.

Genesis of TV Eye: “Different with indigeno, toy figure who works indieguerillas first. indigeno
actually more appropriately called Figurine, because it can not be played and the movable
parts of his body. indigeno exhibited in 2005 at the CP Open Biennale Jakarta. Indigeno
form which inspired chubby clown-servants of one character, namely Bagong. Bagong
chosen because they represent young people who dare, speak frankly but sincerely.
Indigeno only made about 20 pcs just for exhibition purposes at the time and
not done any thinking for mass production.
Six years later, re-create works of indieguerillas resin figure toy with the name TV EYE.
This time some parts of his body have more articullation. TV EYE is still adopting a disting-
uished Bagong chubby body shape, but this time he is winged, the wings of Gatot Kaca
(Gatot Kaca is a super hero figure who can fly like Superman).

Head-shaped TV / Screen because love and hate relationship with TV / Screen. TV could be a
good friend and helpful, but sometimes the opposite. Screen / Screen can also represent
a computer screen, note book, smart phone …. Etc. Every day we are not tired of
looking at it …. In that screen, all the events there. So, at the head of this TV
anything can go, like a blank canvas for the painter.
The right hand fork-shaped because everyone likes food, and needed to eat, and because each
food is a work of art. The left hand held up 2 fingers \ m /, because we love music, especially
heavy metal music. Music also inspires us and who lead a good mood in the work.
So was complete TV EYE as a depiction of Visual Arts, Heavy Metal
and Gastronomical Adventure.”

“I love Indonesia but hate to see the behavior of the people running it” perhaps summarizes the theme of this
vector art exhibition. Being born and living in Indonesia can inspire a love for the country, but at the same
time feelings of hate and frustration can arise when seeing all the things that are not right that happen here.
Conflicting feelings like these are not always easy to express. Most of us who do not play a role in
decision making can only grumble to ourselves, then slowly try to adapt to the situation.
Vector art is a global product of urban culture. In Indonesia, vector art has quickly developed over
the past decade. The emergence of the site VectorJunkie (VJ) through the electronic publication (e-zine),
Vektorika, is one of the pioneering examples in popularizing vectors to the Indonesian public.
Now, besides using conventional print media such as books or posters, vector applications have penetrated
various kinds of media such as t-shirts, designer toys, accessories, skateboards, electronic gadget skins or
enclosures, murals, wallpaper, interactive media, and so on. This exhibition invites several vector artists
from Indonesia and abroad whose vector pieces have been appreciated by many groups. A discussion
and meeting with the artists will be held on May 28, 2011 at Serambi Salihara.
Vector art Exhibition “Honey, Poison, and My Country” (Madu, Racun dan Negeriku) will be open at
Saturday, 28 May 2011, 07:30 PM. Open for public and free admission. Held in Galeri Salihara, this
exhibition is held until 19 June 2011, every 11:00 AM-08:00 PM on Monday-Saturday, every
11:00 AM-03:00 PM on Sunday and closed in public holiday.
Featuring local & international artist such as Pale Horse, Mega, Theyhatemydesign, Loveshugah,
Singpentinkhappy, Evergrunge, Tracelandvectorie, Pinkversusblack, and The Yellow Dino.
A discussion will be held before the exhibition on Saturday, 28 May 2011, 04:00 PM at Serambi Salihara
with speakers Mega (France) & The Yellow Dino (Indonesia) and moderator Godot Guntoro (founder of
Vektorjunkie.com and editor of Babyboss magazine) also responder Krisna Murti (video artist).
Open for public, discussion will be held in Indonesia & English.
